Lore & Background

Billy Hitchcock is one of the survivors removed from Volée Airlines Flight 180 alongside Alex Browning, Tod Waggner, Terry Chaney, Valerie Lewton, and Clear Rivers. After the plane explodes, the survivors are interrogated by FBI agents Weine and Schreck. Following Tod's death, Alex sneaks into the funeral home where mortician William Bludworth reveals that Death is reclaiming those who cheated death. At a café, a heated argument breaks out among the survivors. Terry leaves and is run over by a speeding bus. After Ms. Lewton dies in a kitchen accident, the remaining survivors—Alex, Clear, Billy, and Carter—reunite while driving. Carter stops his car at a train crossing to prove Alex's theory wrong. Alex, Clear, and Billy manage to escape, but Carter is trapped. Alex saves Carter just before the car is smashed by an oncoming train, and a piece of shrapnel from the wreckage decapitates Billy. Alex deduces that because he intervened in Carter's death, it skipped to the next person in the sequence—Billy.

In Their Own Story

Billy Hitchcock is a high school student on a senior trip to Paris. He is removed from Flight 180 after Alex's premonition causes a fight. After the plane explodes, Billy survives alongside the others. He attends the memorial service and later joins the group at a café, where a heated argument breaks out. After Terry is killed by a bus, Billy is present when Ms. Lewton dies in her kitchen. Later, while driving with Alex, Clear, and Carter, Carter stops at a train crossing. Billy escapes the car with Alex and Clear, but is killed when a piece of shrapnel from the train wreck decapitates him. His death confirms Alex's theory that Death is reclaiming the survivors in the order they would have died on the plane.
