Kevin Fischer is a high school graduate visiting an amusement park in Pennsylvania with his girlfriend Carrie Dreyer, his best friend Jason Wise, Jason's girlfriend Wendy Christensen, and their classmates. After Wendy has a premonition of the Devil's Flight roller coaster derailing, she convinces Kevin and several others to leave the ride. Jason and Carrie are killed in the subsequent derailment. Weeks later, Kevin tells Wendy about his discovery of Alex Browning, a visionary from the Flight 180 explosion, and explains that Death hunts survivors in the order they would have died. After Ashley Freund and Ashlyn Halperin are killed in tanning beds, Kevin and Wendy use photographs Wendy took at the amusement park to find clues about the survivors' fates. While trapped in Kevin's truck, Frankie Cheeks is killed by an engine fan. Later, Lewis Romero is killed by a weight machine at the school gym. Kevin and Wendy attempt to save Ian McKinley and Erin Ulmer at a hardware store; Wendy saves Ian from falling stakes, but Erin is killed by a nail gun. Kevin saves Julie Christensen from being impaled on a harrow at a tricentennial fair. After Perry Malinowski is killed by a flagpole, Kevin is saved by Wendy from an exploding propane canister. Five months later, Kevin boards a subway train with Wendy and Julie, and Wendy has a premonition that the train will crash; the three attempt to stop it.
